    PGCE funding
    Hi

I'm looking at doing a PGCE for FE next september and I am slightly confused about funding. I have already received 4 years of funding for my undergraduate course and I know that you are only entitled to 4 years funding from SLC, does anyone know if this includes postgraduate courses or is this a separate funding stream??

    Thanks

PGCE is funded, even if you've a degree

You'll be entitled to all funding (fees, loans, maintenance grant and supplementary grants) as a PGCE is an exception course.

It only includes certain postgrad courses such as PGCE's. The majority are not funded by student finance.

Oh yeah - sorry OP, I was referring to if you were doing a 1-year full time PGCE.

If you're doing a part time DTLLS/CertEd or something then you will be entitled to part time support only - course grant (about £260 max) and fee grant (about £1200 max).
