Meeting new people in the summer
Heeey, in short, I'm 16 and have never really got out much and so don't really know that many people. Things have happened this summer that's made me want to change this and instead of being lonely all summer () I want to get out there and meet new people. My problem is I have no money and like I said don't know many people and so won't be invited to any/many parties (). So where could someone go on there own (not forever alone) and meet new people *Please note I have like £20 to last the summer lool*. Thanks for any input anything else you wonna know just ask )))

Edit: Thanks for all input so far, any ideas for being like just out and about though? If I was on my own and just went up to a group of people in a park they'd think I was just weird, any similar suggestions where people may not think the same ?

This website is designed for people to get to know each other from mutual interests and hobbies. You type in your interest and your area code. Et voila, lots of new groups to join. When I first moved to my new city I didn't know anyone at all and when i found out about it it was great. I am a languages student, so I joined the French meet up. It was scary at first but everyone was friendly and welcoming. Age ranges were from people at uni like me to older people. But if you're up for mixing around socially then go for it http://www.meetup.com/

Volunteer work! Maybe a local charity shop? It looks great on your ucas/CV and gives you new skills and out of the house. I've met lots of people through that Plus it is free
    Hope you find something!

Well no not really. If you want to just get out and about, then get out and about and talk to the people you bump into...

Join a sports club (if you can get someone to pay for your lessons). Or get a job at a tutoring centre, that's what I aim to do after the holidays. I've been to a couple where all the tutors were about 16 to 19 and they would always seem really friendly with each other. They didn't really get round to teaching though
