My cousin had applied for medicine last year and got an offer. everything has gone to plan but she hasnt got her visa yet. (international Student) As you might understand she is clearly depressed. After all the hard work she put into her application and A Level, her ambition is hanging on a thread. Her university's freshers started today and her course starts on the 26th.
Is there any possibility that the uni will let her any later. ( the medical school had stated last week that the 26th would be the last day they can allow, will the extend if she pleads?
If she cannot go this year she will want to reapply again rather than defer her offer. Is it wise? She has a fair amount of A* at GCSE and got A*AAA at A Levels.
Another problem is the deadline for BMAT registration is this 24th in her country, so she will have to register for it if she is reapplying.
she told her uni doesn't do dissection thats also another reason why she wants reapply.
So would she rather go to a med' school that doesn't do dissection, or risk getting rejected if she reapplies? Medicine gets tougher to get into every year, she should think hard about this..
