How competitive is Computer Science/Cybernetics for university admission?
    Hi,

I am currently predicted BBB or 300 UCAS Points or 340 UCAS Points (Including C at AS).

I am applying for the following universities
    1. Kings College London (Computer Science With Year In Industry)
    2. City University (Computer Science With Year In Industry)
    3. Brunel(Computer Science With Year In Industry)
    4. University Of Kent (Computer Science With Year In Industry)
    5. University Of Reading (Cybernetics With Year In Industry)

Now I stand a good chance for three of my universities which are Brunel, Reading & Kent.

However, I really want to go City, if not Kings.

City want 360 UCAS Points (Including AS). I am on 340 UCAS Points (Including AS).
Kings want AAB. I am on BBB.

What are the chances of me getting an offer from one of them?

To be honest, it depends if they really like you. If they really like you, they'll give you a lower offer :-)

But I've heard of this before so I don't see how it's giving false hope? Although the way I've heard it is they give you an offer if they like you and your current grades first, and maybe if you miss the offer by one grade they'll let you in. I'm pretty sure they don't just lower it straight away because of your current grades, even before you get your exam results. But then again that highly depends on if you're course is competitive or not.

I really can't say. But I guess it's kinda obvious that it won't be as competitive as other courses like medicine, law etc so that's a good thing I suppose...?

Yeah, thats a good thing . Found that when doing my research. So I am more likely to get offers from good universities?
