    Non-adult applying to Cambridge Undergrad?
I just came back from my Cambridge interviews last weekend, and turned 17 today. So I was born December, 1994. But I read that Cambridge prefers not to take people under 18 at the beginning of the first term because they are not yet adults. I'm terribly worried that I have no chance now. How old is everyone else applying/ do you know anyone who was 17 and got in?

yep, the Head Girl of my school a few years ago. She's just turned 19 and in her second year. She's reading history but I dunno which college! Her birthday was in November so you'll be fine!

You'll be fine. The uni has a history of taking under 18s in.

There's a fair share of 17 year old starters - off the top of my head, I can think of 3 people in my year who I know for sure started when 17 (might not seem like a lot but then, there are also only 4 welsh people in my year. And as far as I know, Cambridge don't have a grudge against the Welsh) and I know 2 others in the year below me. There are probably a few others in my year, I just don't know who they are.

Yes, I started when I was 17, and did absolutely fine . My birthday's in March, so it took 2/3rds of the year before I was technically an adult!

It depends on the college. Some are fine with it, others prefer not to take younger applicants. The fact that you were invited to interview suggests your college is fine with it.

Furthermore you're not really that young. Some colleges have taken in 15 year olds in recent history.

afaik, as long as its not med/vet med, you should be fine re legally being able to the course.

maths/physics in particular has a rep for very young applicants. and need i mention Sheldon....
