Iaquinta on loan?

1. Bull****
2. Old and slow
3. Massive Wages
4. Why would he come here
5. We won't sign anyone
Pards is really losing it. Why in the hell isn't Ben Arfa starting on the wing? Makes no sense, he is making real **** decisions recently (the Vuckic one still puzzles me, seriously WTF was that about). People keep saying that we shouldn't play Best and that yet last time I checked we actually win games.

Formation for tonight should be:

Krul
Taylor Colo Williamson Simpson
Ben Arfa Tiote Cabaye Jonas
Best Ba

That is the strongest team we could have with first rate players with experience. We cannot experiment with youngsters like we are currently doing against squads like Man Utd, Liverpool etc. So for ****s sake Pards don't experiment.
I doubt we'll get anything out of tonight. Ben Arfa's going to come on at the 65 minute mark and be crap in the centre as per. Obertan will do sod all, along with Gutierrez, putting lots of pressure on Cabaye who's going to end up playing some ridiculously ambitious passes forward as he won't have any other option.

Nice positive thinking there.

If we stop playing hoof ball and actually exploit our players that are confident in possession theres no reason why we can't get something out of today.
Match thread for the game.

This is probably one of my favourite games of the season (along with Villa away), I love the roar of the SJP crowd. :adore:

I can only name 3 players who have been confident in possession:

Tioté, who runs around in circles and is perfectly confident with dribbling in his own half

Jonas, who uses his strength to maneuver around the wing and free up space

Ba, no comment

Everyone else seems to want to get rid of it as soon as they touch it, whether it be a roll-of-the-dice hoof up the pitch or a back pass. I have a feeling Pards has been telling Obertan to be more aggressive since he actually had a shot on target a couple games ago after dribbling past a player. This is what a winger is supposed to do. Obertan can be a good winger... he has pace, he can dribble, but he's downright petrified of making a mistake.

You can add at least Santon and HBA to that list.

Cabaye and Raylor, whilst not exactly dribbling specialists are more than capable of creating chances through creative long balls.

As long as we win games i don't really care.
Still, nothing will ever beat this shirt sponsor imo...

I do agree. I love that shirt, one of the best overall i'd say. I do miss the days when we were sponsored by Newcastle Brown Ale!

It just looks like it has been stuck directly over the top of Northern Rock. It reminds me of the hoover logo. I wonder if they tried to sell them the stadium naming rights too.
No Obertan tonight in the starting XI! Our starting line up is Krul; Simpson, Williamson, Coloccini (c), Santon; R.Taylor, Cabaye, Tiote, Gutierrez; Ba, Shola Ameobi and on the bench are Harper, Perch, Vuckic, Obertan, Ben Arfa, Sammy Ameobi, Best.
Is it Santon or Ryan Taylor on the wing?
Sorry but am I going crazy. ****ing Shola Ameobi!!!!! Against the League Champions!!!!!!! Is Pards ****ing mental?
Oh god, Manchester United's team is going to crush us
I almost don't want to post in the match thread because there will inevitably be Man U fans there.

Also, those kits are absolutely hideous. "northern rock" was a great analogy for Newcastle, both the city and the club. Virgin Money? **** you, Branson!

I know its only half time but...
Amazing performance and result. This game shows how much we're going to miss Ba though, he was tremendous. But the stars are Cabaye and Tiote - two players signed for a combined total of around £10million and they are one of the best central midfield partnerships in the whole league.

Great result and to be 4 points behind 4th spot after 20 games, even after our horrid run the past couple of months, just shows how great a start we really had. Onwards from here!
Pards got his tactics right... he clearly outcoached Ferguson today. Great subs to hold a lead.
Brilliant game, put me in a fantastic mood. More of ryan taylor on the wing please.
