    Resits
If i resit an exam a 2nd time would that result stick no matter what? My teacher told me it would, i don't know if she's lying or not.

Why would your teacher lie to you? Basically, whichever grade is better, is the grade you get. If you got a C on the paper originally but got a B the 2nd time, you would get a B. If it happened the other way around so you got a C the second time but had a B the first time, you would still be awarded the B grade.

    She is not lying

    !
yes she is, cos she said that the second result will stick, but it won't if the first is higher.

    "that" grade

referring to the 1st grade that OP got

    so she isn't lying.

OP was referring to the second result. If the first result stuck, no matter what, then what would be the point in resits! :sigh:

I dont understand why you would think you're teacher would lie.

No the one that you did better at will be counted towards your overall grade.
I think what your teacher is trying to say is that unis will be able to find out that you retook it and 'sticks' on your record.

Some do. When I was looking at marine biology courses, st andrews said you had to get AAA with no resits.

So lets say i got a B in my second attempt at a exam (first resit) and i want to resit it again to get an A but fail miserably and get a C, the B would stick?

For A levels, the better or best result you get in an exam, whenever you get it - the first attempt, the 3rd of 5 or the 7th of 7 - is the one that counts. It is that simple.
