I can tell you that at bristol we had lectures, stats sessions, labs and tutorials in our first year. In 2nd year we have lectures, joint stats and lab sessions, seminars and a few tutorials. 3rd year is the same.

I imagine the set up will be pretty much the same at most unis.

does the work u do in the stats sessions/labs count towards your final grade or are there reports/exercises you do out of these sessions that count towards it?
    Thanks

    It's normally coursework and exams.

In first year nothing counts towards your final grade (obviously everything counts towards your final grade for 1st year though).

In 2nd/3rd year the work we do in the sessions themselves is not graded, but the reports we write for the labs and the coursework set from the stats sessions all count towards your final grade. You get practice in 1st year for the reports and courseworks, so it's not all new to you in 2nd year.

Hi what is the difference between seminars and tutorials and how many people are in each? also how often are these in each year and how long?
    Thanks

Depends on the uni for how many you have. I had 6 tutorials last year and around the same amount this year. I have 8 seminars per content unit, so that's 32 although I only have to present in 4 of them.

Our seminars are presentations of a paper by one group and a mini lecture given by a professor, this then leads to discussion. There were 20-25 people in each seminar I've had so far.

Our tutorials are literally just discussing how we're getting on with life at uni. Sometimes we have chats about various things that might affect us in the future like how research is conducted, funding, general sciencey/psychology stuff. There are 5 people in my tutor group I think. Although again, this will vary between tutors and between different universities.
