    Scottish uni system/US system
Hi I am studying at a Scottish Uni (Glasgow) and I am thinking of doing my third year abroad. Because the Scottish uni system is one year longer than english system I am confused of which year I would go into in a US uni - sophmore or junior? Because most degrees over there are 4 years right? (My course is 5 years MEng)
    thanks x

You would be an international student, with you own university's standing. Sophomores and juniors only refer to matriculated students. Besides that, it doesn't matter what you would come in as - what year you are in is completely irrelevant

Yep, pretty much what the previous poster said.

Most US degrees have a much broader range of subjects required and are far less rigid than the UK equivalents.

(For background, I did my first degree in the US but spent 1 1/2 years of it studying at UCL over here.)
