Re: How Bad are my Results? No that's fine, I think. I think a 2:1 falls about ~B (so you have a high 2:2, low 2:1 and high 2:1), although do they not give you it as a percentage still? I'm on percentage so not quite sure but I get grades for my lab report which i'm assuming must correlate to the same.(Original post by Hollie21)
Hey, I am in second year and I have just got my first 3 essays back. I got a C+ B- and a B+.
Is this really bad? I'm not used to the ABC grading system as my uni has just switched to it from percentages. What do you think, am I on route to doing really badly?

Re: How Bad are my Results?why don't you talk to your tutor about it? they'll be able to explain much better than any of us!! or another student on your course? your tutor will help you to work out how to get better too, so that's the best option.(Original post by Hollie21)
No I thought they would still give a percentage, but it seems to just be the A/B/C at the moment
I would prefer a percentage, haha. Thanks for the reply

Re: How Bad are my Results?I'm at Lancaster and they've just started using that system.(Original post by OMG TOOTHBRUSH)
ABC grading system at uni? What uni do you go to? That sounds pretty unusual -
Re: How Bad are my Results?Oh really? Is that for all subjects at Lancaster, or do you not know?(Original post by ForensicShoe)
I'm at Lancaster and they've just started using that system.
EDIT: Just had a quick look at OP's posts, looks like she's at Lancaster too so yeah...
How are you finding the whole grade system as opposed to percentages? I've only just adjusted to percentages! (Possibly transferring to Lancaster in 2nd year.)Last edited by impossible!; 19-01-2012 at 15:32. -
Re: How Bad are my Results?I'm a first year so I never had the chance to get used to the old system but yeah it's alright, kinda like being back at Sixth Form(Original post by impossible!)

Re: How Bad are my Results?Ah thanks a lot, I just find it strange as I had become so used to the other system and my department didn't explain it very well.. or not at all!(Original post by Sapphire_Eyes)
Derby use same system A+ - A- is 1st B+ - B- is 2:1 and C+ - C- is 2:2
seems like good grades you got
