How popular are apprenticeships
I was wondering how popular apprenticeships are at the moment? are more or less people doing them in the past few years and are there any trends you notice?
For example do you think the rise in tuition fees and less people applying to university will make apprenticeships more popular? -

Good day 'e-blackadder'
Apprenticeships have never been more popular.
Last year over 400,000 people started an Apprenticeship - double the number of 2 years ago.
We have had growth in all areas and all ages but in particluar we are seeing more people interested in Advanced and Higher level Apprenticeships which are roughly the academic equivalent of A level or Foundation degrees.
