University of Sunderland
Course: BSc (Hons) Computer Science
Decision: 260 points from Extended Diploma together with a C at GCSE Mathematics or equivalent

Edge Hill University
Course: BSc (Hons) Computing
Decision: 240 points from Extended Diploma together with a C at GCSE Mathematics

Teesside University
Course: BSc (Hons) Computing & Computer Science
Decision: Joint interview

Aberystwyth University
Course: BSc (Hons) Computer Science
Decision: 280 points from Extended Diploma together with a C at GCSE Mathematics

I had my interview today, it went surprisingly well. I was told an offer would be made for both courses, though my interviewer felt I was best suited for CS.

I also brought up my Math GCSE resit (having failed with a D at secondary school) within the conversation, he said as long as I hit the predicted grade of D*D*D* (Extended Diploma) and I don't completely screw up and go beyond unclassified boundary in my GCSE I should be fine. He spoke to the admission team for me and got back to me on it. I'm just a little puzzled :s-smilie: I though GCSE Mathematics was completely compulsory?

Can anyone shed some light on this, I'd appreciate it.

things to consider
-course profile- uea i know sets out the modules you can study here:
http://www.uea.ac.uk/eco/courses - just click on the course
-location- UEA is a campus uni near a city, Sheffield is a uni based right in the city centre with no defined boundaries
-facilities
-accomodation
-i strongly reccomend you pay both a visit
Hey Guys
I am very torn between two offers I got,
one is for Queen Mary - Law and Politics

In terms of prestige...well, Kings is more prestigious and has more of a reputation. BUT, both unis are really good and you should visit both on open days to make up your mind
Glasgow or Aberdeen? Even if I'm still waiting for two more answers I know the final choice will be between these two.
I just this minute discovered that Teesside University have updated my tracker.

They have given me a reduced offer for Computer Science at 240 points instead of the typical 280. My GCSE Maths resit is not included in the offer unlike my other conditional offers :s-smilie: .. surely, this cannot be right?

It's unlikely that they've made a mistake. If you're unsure about it, then there's no harm in giving Teesside a call on Monday
Oh.. I just assumed a Mathematics GCSE grade C was compulsory for all BSc courses, I only have a D (my only GCSE to fail :frown: ). Math has never been something I excelled at, infact I fear Math. I take it they have made an exception for me? It's just hard to believe because all my other offers for Computing/CS have asked that I achieve a C or above.

I have sent an email to the department, I'll see what they say.

Hahaha. Just firmed UEA for Pharmacy yesterday, then go on this thread and freak out at the "Don't be one of those people who chose their firm and insurance in February and wished they hadn't." Ah well, if I'm screwed, I'm screwed.

Where you gonna go?
I'll probably put Birmingham as firm and Lancaster as insurance.
Would it be at all silly to choose Bangor over Sheffield for Biology/Zoology?
