YouTube help!
I've uploaded videos from iMovie on my mac no problem before.
I uploaded one last week and kept it on private until I was ready to release it yesterday. It's gone public now, only whenever I post the link on facebook the drop down box won't show the thumbnail and allow it to be played there. I've checked all the settings I think it could affect and can't figure out why. Last night I also had massive problems even opening the link (not sure if this was a YouTube related problem as that seems to be ok now).
I tried re-uploading the video this morning and the same thing has happened! I am absolutely baffled.
Please help! -

Re: YouTube help!
Hello,
I had similar issues with YT mostly with new uploaded videos. I also asked similar question on some other forums. And I was told that depending on where you click a video on YouTube the video URL will pick up extra data in its URL.
For instance, if you go to CarscomTV Youtube page and click on Cars.com Super bowl Ad, the URL will be like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMxSZ...el_video_title
Although the actual URL is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMxSZQZuBYc
As you can see in the first link the extra information is separated by an "&" symbol. And sometimes, this extra information can disrupt the video URL.
So, first you have to make sure that you select only the info before the "&".
You also can add &sns=fb after the actual video URL.
I think the issue regarding no YT thumbnail pic appearing on FB is quite widespread.
Also, check out this: http://www.google.com/support/forum/...l=en&start=120
Hope it helps!Last edited by Exulted; 25-02-2012 at 12:51. -
Re: YouTube help!
TSR automatically shortens the YT URL:
The first long YT URL is: watch?v=PMxSZQZuBYc&feature=chan nel_video_title after http://www.youtube.com/ -
Re: YouTube help!
I see that TSR did add a YouTube shortcut for posting videos, but did they change the code string needed to make the video embed into posts? I was trying to post one on another thread, but can't seem to find the right string of code. However, the full URLs are slightly different on my YouTube, don't know if thats because Im in the US.
http...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AJl2...ure=plpp_video
I tried all the info before the "&", as well as "v=" and everything after it. Is there anything i am missing here?
