For anyone who knows about the Consortium LPC at BPP

I wondered if anyone knew what the three electives were on the BPP Accelerated LPC for the Consortium firms?

I know equity finance and debt finance are two of them, but what is the third? I presume it is either corporate finance or private acquisitions?

Many thanks for any info.
On the Acc LPC I did Debt Finance, Equity Finance and Corporate Transactions. I guess CT is now called private acquisitions?

Thanks. There was no Corporate Transactions listed, so I presume it's now Private Acquisitions yeah.
It's still called Corporate Transactions...

In that case the list I saw must be a very old blast from the past! Thanks West Wing.

Either that, or is it that it's an elective on the Consortium LPC that isn't available to other LPCers? http://www.bpp.com/postgraduate-course-details/-/d/postgraduate/LPC/146

Here's a screenshot.

It was a real mish mash of topics, like Pensions, Private Equity, Real Estate, Employment and Tax.

Sorry, what was a real mish mash of topics? *Interested party ostensibly starting LPC in about 5 months...*
First stage modules are Business Law, Property Law and Civil/Criminal Litigation.

Second stage modules are Corporate Transactions, Debt Finance and Equity Finance.

All the extra 'skills' modules are:

Interviewing and Advising
Advocacy
Practical Legal Research
Professional Conduct
Writing
Financial Services
Wills and Administration of Estates
Solicitors Accounts (/Business Accounts)
^--- That's for the February 2012 intake. (Not saying that's my intake but I know that's what they're studying).

So the corporate transactions module is a general one that basically tries to give future trainees a very basic grounding in all of the main departments, so that they have at least basic knowledge when entering something which isn't banking, corporate, or litigation?

The module is focused on M&A. When corporate does a takeover, there are a lot of issues to consider - the target company will have employees, premises, tax liabilities, regulatory/environmental issues, supply contracts, sale contracts etc. etc. and they would also need to be investigated and considered as part of the takeover process. The Corporate Transactions module gives you a basic grounding in these issues so that you can identify these issues and understand them on a very basic level - the expectation is that if there was an employment/real estate/tax problem you would farm it out to a specialist.

Of course a basic introduction to employment/tax/whatever law is also helpful for specialist seats.
