A level grades equivalent to Canadian high school scores?
For admission to Canadian universities especially UBC, what are the equivalent A level grades to Canadian high school scores?

I realise that Canadian students applying for uni keep mentioning something about 80 to 90% average.

And i got ABB for A levels, so what's the Canadian score equivalent to mine?

First of all, there's no such thing as Canadian high school scores. Each province has their own educational requirements, so it will depend on which Canadian universities you are applying to.

Secondly, I don't think there's an equivalency table between A-level grades and high school scores, so I won't be able to help you.

A-level minimum requirements will depend on the university. Given that you have ABB, I think it will be sufficient for regular programs. Note that you will need higher results for competitive programs.

    Thanks though!

Just wondering too, do you know what the IB score equivalent to ABB is?

Going the other way Canadian to UK my experience has been that 80% roughly equals A level B, 85% roughly A and 90+ roughly A*.

I would agree with the previous poster that your roughly mid 80s average would be good enough for UBC generally but not the most popular courses. I don't know what their attitude is to overseas applicants though. I know that McGill will accept lower grades from abroad because of the extra fees.

I actually don't know about this...because Canadian universities look at IB scores separately from A-level scores. If you have taken the IB, you could use your IB results instead of your A-level results.

    Thanks for the info!

I have always thought that McGill is the most selective Canadian university though, even when it comes to admitting international applicants.
