The transfer of substances containing carbon, between organisms and organisms and the environment

has anyone got a sample answer to this essay question and could you post it on here. I am struggling with what to write, not in terms of topics to talk about, but in terms of what they are actually wanting you to say about those things.. so ideas or sample answers would be greatly appreciated:smile:!!!

Have you tried talking about the carbon cycle?

Hmmm. Lots and Lots of things contain Carbon, for example, all sugars. You could talk about the food chain, and how carbon is transferred from organism to organism there. Also, when things decay, Carbon will be released into the environment. You could also talk about photosynthesis, which uses Carbon Dioxide to produce Glucose and Oxygen, and go on to talk about plants removing CO2 from the environment. You could even go on to talk about the effects of deforestation ect. Then you could go on about Respiration, which uses Oxygen to produce energy in the form of ATP and CO2, saying that CO2 is released into the environment that way. If you've done about respiration in your classes aswell, you could even go off on a tangent talking about oxidative phosphorylation, and in the photosynthesis part, talk about carbon fixation in the light independant stage. Theres just a few things you could go into, but im sure there is many more, as so many substances contain Carbon!
