    Help arranging music folders/configuring itunes.
I am trying to build up my music collection atm after losing a lot. Decided to start from scratch and want it to be organised properly this time. I am having a hard time though… I have uploaded screenshots to better explain my problems.

In screenshot 1 you can see that for my james blake album itunes has completely altered the order of the tracks…for no apparent reason. Also for the maceo plex album, it seems to start a new album at track 9.

In screenshot 2 you can see that for the Jamie woon album it has a little picture of the album artwork next to the album. However, for the album below it doesn’t have the artwork but you can see in the bottom left window that it clearly has the album artwork picture. It does this for a lot of my EPs too.

In screenshot 3 you can see that in the file location there are no track numbers present and it won’t let me insert any. This means it goes into itunes in a completely random order.

Does anybody know how to sort out issues such as these as I am finding it very frustrating! Help would be much appreciated as I am tearing my hair out.

For issue 1, at least one of the album details of the files will be different for the different groups of tracks. To fix this, select all of the tracks at once, then right Click -> Get Info (answer Yes to the prompt). Select all of the checkboxes on the "Info" tab and enter the correct details (and paste in the album art), then click okay. Hopefully that should then fix this. Possibly issue 2 is related, so try the same (excluding the "Artist" - but not "Album Artist" - field if necessary) and see if that works.

For issue 3, by the looks of it iTunes is set not to organise your music library within the iTunes music folder. Within Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced, I'd suggest that you set the options for "Keep iTunes Media Folder Organised" and "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library". You may need to re-import the files, but when doing so, part of iTunes renaming/filing process should add the track number to the start of the file name.
