I would love to get into Acting, but I don't know how. I would like to try my hand at it and see what I'm like with it. I feel I have what it takes to become a good actor, but how tough is the acting industry? Do you think I could do it if I put the effort in?

I wouldn't abandon everything in the hopes of becoming an actor, but yeah why not a drama club/school in your spare time and see where that goes

With skill and determination you can accomplish anything. Try doing a drama course or as Refrigerator said, join a drama club. It also wouldn't hurt to read some drama books. As to how to break into the industry.... go to auditions. Read up on plays-in-progress and see if they are holding auditions. Good luck

There are LOTS of schemes available for young people to get involved in acting, drama and theatre. Plus there are lots of acting opportunities available on a voluntary basis if you check out the arts websites.

Definitely test the waters out first!

If you live in or near London, I can list a load of places which offer great opportunities for acting etc

It involves a lot of practice and gigs etc. Some of the biggest stars in Hollywood have taken years to get to where they are. I mean before Friends came about, barely any of them were well known.

Join an acting group, and do as much as you can in your spare time. Then perhaps see about going to drama school.

You've been interested in acting for a while, iirc? Surely you must have done some research; acting is probably the most difficult career to get into, the most difficult to get work, the most volatile. The vast majority of actors are out of work at any one time, and those that are in work are playing bit parts on Eastenders, rather than Hamlet in the west end. Acting is incredibly, incredibly tough.
