Dinner for shmucks
Whether you think cinema died with Hitchcock or only got good once Michael Bay started blowing up helicopters, this is the place where moving pictures are discussed.

Dinner for shmucks
Anyone seen this film? I thought that it wasn't too bad. Paul Rudd is invited to bring along someone to a corporate dinner for his boss to quietly make fun of all the guests. Steve Carell is the person that he chooses. The dinner scene itself is short and relatively unfunny but the rest of the film isn't too bad in some bizarrely amusing ways. It is mostly quite dry comedy though - there weren't a lot of laughs in the cinema that I was in. It reminded me a bit of The Cable Guy in some ways.
Overall, it's not all good but it does have its moments. It will never be a mainstream hit but it does have a kind of 'Three to tango' guilty pleasure feel about it.Last edited by Picnic1; 15-09-2010 at 23:14.
