    UWIC accommodation?!
I've got a conditional for Educational Studies with Early Childhood this September and would like some advice on where to stay...
The obvious choice is halls on Cyncoed but I looked around them on the open day recently and didn't think much of them. Looked at Allensbank online and that looks a lot nicer and more social with an open lounge area (but is much further away). Cyncoed halls don't have that...

Anybody stayed in either of these and have some advice?
Should I just stay in halls for the experience of first year while I can or will I not be missing out much staying away at Allensbank?

    Any advice appreciated!

A lot of UWIC students who are in the Cyncoed campus stay in Allensbank. It's not that far away from it either if you grab the bus. Possibly 10 minutes, if that. If you decided to walk it does talk a little longer because of the killer hill leading up to it.

As for Allensbank itself, it's quite nice for student accommodation, i stayed there for a year. It's is around a 20 minute bus journey to the centre and Allensbank road is such a busy road with buses constantly passing through. There is a mixture of Cardiff, Uwic and Glamorgan students but the majority share with students from your own Uni, there were only a couple where they had to share with other students from elsewhere. If you drive and ever think about taking your car the parking is a bit of a pain, you can only park on Allensbank road which sometimes you might have to park your car quite a way down the road or be willing to pay a fee to keep it in the Allensbank grounds. If there is anything else you want to know just ask...
