Leeds Metropolitan Accomodation
I'm attending Leeds Met next month and i'm staying in Carnegie Village at headingley campus. With this in mind, is there anyone that can tell me what the Carnegie village town houses are like?? ... I've seen the cluster flats and they are very nice but both the website and the internet in general tell you so little about the townhouses which makes me worry that they are AWFUL !!! .... i'm staying there either way but the fact that no one anywhere on planet earth has a picture of the inside is feeding my curiosity to breaking point.

Re: Leeds Metropolitan Accomodation
If you have an open day at Headingly Campus, you should get shown around Carnegie Village as it's right on campus.
The few bedrooms we looked at (which were all en-suites) were quite compact and very clean. The facilities looked excellent and everything looks well maintained.
The shared kitchen/living room area was supposed to seat between 10 and 11 people. There is seating available for those people but it will get very cramped if everyone jumps in at the same time. Again, the kitchen/dining area was very clean and well maintained. There were 3 fridges in the kitchen as there clearly wouldn't be enough space in just 1.
The overall feeling is that they're in fantastic condition but it's not somewhere you want to spend a lot of your time: The size really holds you back on this one.
I would strongly suggest you shortlist a few of the accomodations, purely because of their location, and have a visit when you go for your applicant day. From what I've read, you're supposed to be toured around the various relevant accomodations on the applicant day so use it wisely! -
Re: Leeds Metropolitan AccomodationI'm not 100% sure who your post was directed at as you haven't quoted anybody. Anywho, I don't get an applicant day. The course I applied for interviews everyone, so I have already been for an interview and tour round the uni. It didn't include an accommodation tour so I'm just going to have to go off the info on the website. My course lectures are split 70% at city campus and 30% at Headingley so I imagine Carnegie isn't the best option for me in terms of location anyway.(Original post by Revwood)

Re: Leeds Metropolitan AccomodationUrgh, completely misread the first post and thought you wanted opinions on the living area. Apologies.(Original post by Moooooooose)

Re: Leeds Metropolitan Accomodation
if people are looking for somewhere then i have a room going. the town houses are a complete hit and miss, as some a lovely inside while others look like they haven't been refurbed for years. we have a house which is a tiny bit further out but worth it for the quality of house. very modern finish with a double-bed with en-suite available. message me if you are interested. only £80 a week which in opal or carnegie village is about £40-£50 cheaper per week
did you live there in the end?
