    Polyrythms in Arabesque no1.
    Hallo people :-)

Does anyone have any pearls of wisdom to share concerning these devilish things?.....I just can't get past them, and the piece is so lovely.
I just passed my G7 but really I'm more like G4/5- I rushed through 6 and 7 and didn't do much more than learn pieces/scales, one hour a week- didn't work on tone or expression at all and I play like a machine or something. Never really taken piano seriously. So I'm trying to take things easy now and if I take Grade 8 it'll be a lot later when I can be sure of a merit or something. But then I find out that this is supposedly a G8 piece! Well, that doesn't mean much. Anyhoo....yes, is there a knack to this? Does it suddenly click. I've tried aligning the notes, but then I started doing a weird dotted rhythm (I'm quite impressed I can finally recognise a dotted crotchet, but it's not helping me much). I tried slurring it all together so it all ends at the same time and sounds roughly steady. But it doesn't sound like a waterfall or anything.
Stop rambling now....any advice much appreciated

Yas, wrong title spelling. Rose has yellow tights how marvellous. Sorry

thought i'd say hi, i struggled with this piece for ages!
i'd agree with it being grade 8 standard though.
for me it did sort of click into place after a while, it took serious time. i'd love to meet the person that can sight read grade 8 debussy haha!
it's a gorgeous piece. just have fun with it and don't pressure yourself to get it to concert level too quickly haha! i've been working on clair de lune for the best part of 2 years and i still struggle at the e-major section halfway through!
