Stop selling laptops with cameras on the frontIf any of you work for computer companies can you please inform them that having a terrible camera attached to the top of your screen is not convenient in any way. It just scares the **** out of most of us.

it would be pretty boring for them to see through it anyway, all you're doing is sitting at your laptop..
it asks permission if it can be used, wouldnt an anti virus stop it? -

Re: Stop selling laptops with cameras on the frontWhat? They're awesome. You don't have to lug around a web camera with you and it frees up another USB port. If you're so worried about someone watching you through it then a) you shouldn't be doing anything with a work computer that you wouldn't want to be seen doing and b) you can just disable it. This is a complete non-issue.

It's happened before but only when the computer user did something to start it off. Generally it's just paranoia but i myself have looked at the camera and thought - what if someone was looking through it? I'm not scared of the webcam though, i think that's a bit too paranoid.(Original post by gigascript)

Re: Stop selling laptops with cameras on the frontIf you're really paranoid about someone hacking into your computer and using the camera, you can just put some tape over it. But don't you think if someone did hack into your computer, they'd be more interested in stealing your personal data than watching you be at your computer through your webcam?
