which one is better leeds college of art or manchester met for foundation diploma
which one is better leeds college of art or manchester met for foundation diploma?
basically, i am going to do foudation diploma for art and design the september coming. and i got offers both from MMU and leeds college of art.
so i am currently hesitating which one to choose.
I had very bad impression about MMU's admission. who forget to send me an very important document. It's until I phone up and ask that they finally reliase they did not give me that. so I feel like, in the first place they don't give their poential student enough care. so if i become one of their student. they would not give me the attention needed.
however, comparing to leeds college of art. I feel like MMU has a better artistic atmosphere both in the city and the university. the university appear to be stronger as well.
in comparsion. Leeds is really good at student service. they're very welcoming and caring. although on the open day, i randomly looked at some of the foundation's students' current sketchbook, and feel they're weaker. not challenging enough for me.
so what do you think?
any past student can give me advice. thank you very much!!!!! -

hi lovely
i have a friends from both courses that you're looking at. i'm surprised about mmu not sending you that document that you needed, as i'm a student there and they're always on the ball. my friend at mmu really enjoyed the foundation course and got accepted at all the universities that she applied for because of her strong foundation background that mmu had given her. that saying, my friend who did the foundation at leeds art's now at central saint martins, and he absolutely loved the course at leeds. the only downfall is that apart from the fashion course, he said that the foundation course is the only good course at the uni. hope you make the right decision!

I didn't apply for the Leeds Foundation Diploma because of the same reasons you stated... artistic atmosphere etc... and so my first choice is MMU. I'm sooo excited to go, Manchester seems like an amazing city and a great university.
So I say MMU! Just because i'm going here. haha xx -
Re: which one is better leeds college of art or manchester met for foundation diplomaHello, I also have an offer from leeds and manchester! But I think I'm more persuaded about manchester. Only thing i'm worried about are the halls! Which one's are the most popular? also I don't really want to share bathrooms, but don't want to miss out on the social aspect by not applying for cambridge halls?(Original post by camz852)

Hi iv also applied to both Leeds and Manchester Met but Manchester met is where I am going. Ever since i first went there I loved it! They are so friendly and really organised so Im surprised to hear that they forgot to send you that. The foundation there is known to be one of the best and they have amazing degrees there if you want to stay on after your foundation and their tutors are incredible and really good at helping you throughout your foundation year. Iv heard that Leeds is not very creative and dont get your portfolio up to the same standard as Manchester do. Im going to apply to Victoria halls as I like the way you can have your own bathroom but not sure if it will be less sociable or not. where is everyone else hoping to go?
