After the extremely disappointing end of Final Fantasy XIII-2, it seems inevitable that Square Enix will make an XIII-3. Whilst I'm not complaining about this, a lot of people seem to have become rather upset about the possibility. What are your thoughts?

I'd think it's more likely that they'd release some 'extra-ending' DLC - in fact, that might be the Lightning episode that is due some time in the future. I wouldn't really call the main ending extremely disappointing either, I certainly didnt see it coming, but I didnt think it was bad. Some of the paradox endings were wonderful. I wouldnt really mind if they made another one, as I enjoyed both the XIII games a lot.

Ending was very disappointing, sold it so I don't plan playing anymore DLC. Looking forward to Versus XIII and X remake. And of course the eventual 7 remake

The ending wasn't disappointing IMO, just frustrating :P It made sense considering what Yeul said about Serah and the fact they'd been running around messing with the timeline for the entire game...

I enjoyed Sazh's DLC and I'm probably going to buy Lightning's.

I don't think there's going to be a "remake" of X as such. It's an HD port. It will be exactly the same as the PS2 version but in a higher resolution.

I think they should just leave the ending as is.

I meant doing a HD upscale lol, but yeah they should leave X as it is it was amazing.

I think that the ending was fantastic and I would love for the FF13 series to end as it has done. On the other hand, I don't want to say bye to the characters, especially the ones featured in the first FF13.

I havent actually played FF13-2 because I didn't even think FF13 was that great and I'm not alone... Making a FF13-3 wouldn't be as popular, I doubt it will be made

I hope not. I've been extremely dissapointed with FF games since FFX. And I played XIII-2 for 20 minutes before getting bored, it's as though they've scrapped everything for decent graphics - boring plot, annoying characters with practically no development, unimaginative battle system etc but hey, it looks good.

Perhaps it's just because i'm getting older, but I can't see any future game being better than FF IX (for me anyway) because all the characters, plots and battle systems seem so generic and uninspired now, and they're the main points I look for in an RPG.

Edit: Rant not over yet, I also hate the DLC system - no doubt it makes them a lot of money and I don't blame them for that, but when I buy a game I expect it to contain all the content and to be able to achieve 100% - not have to keep spending more money.

It's a shame because I think FFXIII-2 really is an improvement over XIII. The main problem with XIII is that it was just one long linear dungeon except the bit right at the end. And even then there were no other characters to interact with. XIII-2 is nothing like that at all. You can freely travel between areas as you like and there's loads of people to interact with and sidequests to do.

But if you didn't like the battle system then you probably wouldn't like XIII-2, it's the same basic thing.

I'll be honest, I think that FF13 is more memorable than FF13-2. The journey that the characters go through together is unforgetable.

I've played most FF games from 7 onwards (excluding 11 and 14); and I must say that the cast of 13 was my favourite! Despite the game play of XIII and XIII-2 not being up to par with previous games, the story and the characters were by far the best! (Especially Sazh!)

That's a good cut scene. Snow's a great character, I prefer Hope as an adult to how he was as a child though.

The ending left me spazzing. How could they just end it like that? If they give us some kinda dlc ending that we have to pay for then I'll be very disappointed.

Well I just thinking gaming is pathetic these days when it comes to dlc due to the xbl and psn. A fighting game example since I play them alot. Back in the day to unlock anything you'd have to finish the arcade with different characters, do certain things in the game, finish different modes etc. These days you have to pay for extra costumes, pay for extra characters, pay for everything which is ridiculous on it's own. Even worse when Capcom make you pay for characters that are already on the disc. Why can't we just unlock things to enjoy them? Anyways I went slightly off topic there, but to pay FOR THE ENDING OF A GAME WHICH SHOULD ALREADY BE THERE would be the end of it.
