ATLAH? Are you high? That preacher has previously claimed that "AIDS came from a gay man's toilet". He is an ignoramus.

And you did not answer my question. If race is the determining factor, why is North Korea so much worse than South Korea? Why was East Germany so crap compared to West Germany?

They also make some amazing films!

Again; North Korea is a terrible, godforsaken hellhole of a country, and the people there have the same genetics as the people South Korea. If the "genetic stock" is such an important factor then why does North Korea suck so much, and why was the whole of Korea relatively poor in centuries past?
Capitalism. Enough said.

Just compare it to South Korea.

I wonder if there is an element of patriotism as a reason for their success?

Considering that when you are in SK you hardly see anything imported there, BMWs are few and far between, Japanese cars are rare and even when it comes to consumer electronics unlike most countries Samsung outsells Apple many times over.

It probably has something to do with it, since they seem to share the same kind of quiet patriotism that Japan have, which had an equally sharp rise in development after the war. I think they share the same powerful work ethic based on 'honour' that Japan has as well, which is probably another variable in the equation. They are also heavily valued by the US as well, like Japan is.

Which is also on par with Japan's.

And Pakistan needs a reduction in population and to settle its religious/cultural conflicts before it can go down the same path, which will take decades, if not longer.

Anyway, this is how- economic success can be attributed to Pakistan of all places!

During the 1960s, Pakistan was seen as a model of economic development around the world, and there was much praise for its economic progression. The capital Karachi was seen as an economic role model around the world, and there was much praise for the way its economy was progressing. Many countries sought to emulate Pakistan's economic planning strategy and one of them, South Korea, copied the city's second "Five-Year Plan"; the World Financial Center in Seoul is modeled after Karachi.

Then Pakistan shot itself in the foot...
Later, economic mismanagement in general, and fiscally imprudent economic policies in particular, caused a large increase in the country's public debt and led to slower growth in the 1990s. Two wars with India - the Second Kashmir War in 1965 and the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971 - and the resultant separation of Bangladesh from Pakistan also adversely affected economic growth.[3] In particular, the latter war brought the economy close to recession, although economic output rebounded sharply until the nationalizations of the mid-1970s. The economy recovered during the 1980s via a policy of deregulation, as well as an increased inflow of foreign aid and remittances from expatriate workers.

Pakistan needs a whole new government that will put them first, second and third and unity. Terrorism isn't that big across Pakistan. It's gone down but now inter-ethnic rivalry coupled with fighting with people with different political allegiances has left scores dead in its financial capital, Karachi. This then affects the entire country.

What do the north and sour Koreans have in common despite their ideological differences.

For a start, they are both very low crime societies. How can this be?
