The title is rather self-explanatory. I've heard most people, when picking their AS-levels, specify the one that they're going to drop. Did you find that you dropped the A-level that you thought you would?
I took Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Psychology. I took Psychology because I knew I would find it interesting but intended to drop it before A-level. Now I'm wishing I dropped Maths

I thought I was going to drop politics at the beginning of my AS year and continue on with history, then I got a D in history and full UMS in politics. Although I think I would have dropped history even if I had got a good mark as I enjoyed politics so much more.

I took English Lit, History, Spanish and Philosophy AS and planned to drop the latter all along but after getting an A in Jan last year I thought I'd drop History instead. But then the brilliant Phil teacher left and the replacement was terrible so I got a D in the summer and dropped it rather than have that teacher this year.
EDIT: He also wanted to change the way we sat exams to sitting both A2 modules in the summer which I disliked.Last edited by Lovefoxxx_93; 08-04-2012 at 13:10. -

Throughout my first year, the only subject I was confident I'd carry on with to second year was Film. I mainly wanted to drop Psychology though because I felt it helped the least with my aspirations to do Media in university. Kinda glad I dropped it. I enjoyed the course a lot and while I didn't talk to many people on my course, they were lovely. However, I knew it wouldn't be that helpful overall.
I considered dropping Performance because I was crap at it, but carried on and eventually improved, excelling at theory. I considered dropping Media because even though I wanted to do it in university, the course was taught terribly (had two tutors - one was lovely and helpful, but the other tutor contradicted her a lot and hardly taught us anything useful) and one student in the class made my life a living hell, as well as getting his mates to treat me horribly too. I carried on though because I knew it'd help me get into uni. Second year ended up even worse.
