    The Postgraduate Alternative Funding Thread!
I've been trawling through various guides on how to fund your postgraduate degree(s). In particular I'm looking for masters funding (as we all know, this is difficult to come across), but this thread can be used for any funding for any postgraduate degree that you come across.

    Alternative Postgraduate Funding!

Searching for charities and funding can take hours, days, weeks. If we all get together and search, perhaps we can get a list going here that will cut time for us all.

There isn't a lot of information on this at all.

    http://www.gradfunding.co.uk/website_sample_guide.pdf

This guide (demo version, you have to pay for the full version £9.99) lists a few charities you can apply to, and gives a few tips.

Our main target is charities. There are hundreds, if not thousands of charities aimed at assisting students of various ages (some under 25, some over 30 etc), genders (some only for women), ethnicities, and the area in which you live.

These charities do not get many applications for their funds, which they have set aside for people like us to apply for when trying to fund our degrees.

I hope this thread will kick off in some way with people's findings. I've found a few that I will be applying for.

edit: This probably should have gone in the Student Financial Support sub forum

    Postgrad bursaries:

Things like this come up from simply typing "postgraduate funding"

I'd advise you to also search for funding within the area that you live/went to school in.

Searching for Devon funding gave me a massive list to start working on:

Several grants on this list (most are grants for charities, but some are grants for individuals). In particular I've seen grants for Drama, Physics and History of Medicine students.
