Desperately need a job to pay vet bills!
    Hey everyone
So yesterday my dog got injured badly and although he's okay now, I really need some money to pay for the bills as my parents are not doing well financially. The veterinary surgery don't really mind if it takes a few months as long as we do eventually pay. So I was hoping I get a summer job for after exams towards the end of June and work towards paying the bills of. They total around £800 (I know we should have got insurance )

So my question is where do I start?
I literally do not mind any work as long as it is not a fast food restaurant where I am handling meat. I wouldn't mind cleaning or anything. Shall I just hand out loads of CV's?

Also, is there any place that recruits cleaners as I predict these jobs may be easier to get into?

I'd recommend going around all the big stores in your area and giving out CV's. You might get taken on for a busy sales period or something, which is a great way to get your foot in the door. You could also join an agency, might get you in to work quicker, but be prepared to pay them out of your salary.

I know you goal is making a bit of money for the vet bills, but there's no reason not to treat this as valuable experience as well. Therefore I'd personally try to angle towards a high street shop as opposed to a cleaning position, simply because it will probably be more valuable on your CV.

Another way to potentially make some fast cash is eBay. Every now and then I have a round up of unwanted items around the house and sell them off. Can be worthwhile, depends how much you hoard I guess

    ..............

Swing past the CV Help forum for advice on writing your CV. Have you considered asking the Vet if there is a cleaning/helping job you could do, along perhaps with dog walking via an advert in their surgery?

You don't have to handle meat in a fast food restaurant. I worked in McDonalds on the lobby and had no contact with any cooking of meat. The closest I got was tipping rubbish into bins!

Claim money for your miss sold PPI insurance. That should cover it

I think now is a good time to get pet insurance don't you.

I still don't understand why pet insurance isn't mandatory for pet owners these days!
