    Advice needed on student loan.
Hey guys, just wondering if anyone can give me some advice on some info on my student finance letter... I received this letter a couple of weeks after my original with the run down of the amount payable to me, only it about £1000 less on the loan with an * next to it. At the bottom it says:

"The amount of your maintenance loan has been replaced with a Maintenance Grant. This means you have less student finance to repay."

The problem is the maintanance grant figure has stayed the same, I am just missing the £1000 from the loan. Do you think this was an oversight? I will be living on £21 a week instead of £50 after rent if it isn't, which I can live with but I am hoping it is lol! Thanks.

For every £1 you get in maintenance grant, 50p is deducted from your maximum loan.

If you're "missing" £1000 from the loan, this would make your maintenance grant £2000?

If you can post up a few more details of your total household income and how much grant/loan the letter says you're getting we can help more

That makes sense, thankyou. I called student finance and they verified what you said. I was hoping that the money they deduct from the loan would go on to the grant! She had a good old laugh at me when I told her that loool.
