    Sheffield or Bristol???
    Hi everyone

I'm on a gap year and will be studying Medical Microbiology in Sept/Oct this year. I'm really struggling to decide between Bristol and Sheffield Unis. I have unconditional offers from both and have been on both visit days but still cant decide where to go!

If anyone either studies a similar course to mine at either of these unis, and/or has an opinion on them please help!

    Thanks very much

    Re: Sheffield or Bristol???
I've applied to do Biochemistry at both of these unis starting in 2013, I'm struggling to decide between them too! In terms of the course both seem fairly equal, one of the professors at Bristol said 'Sheffield is like the Bristol of the north', so not much between them there... Although the 4 year MBiolSci course Sheffield offers seems to give more experience than the 'year in industry' one at Bristol.

Sheffield is cheaper in general than Bristol.

Coming from a state school in Leeds, I'm slightly apprehensive about the relatively high private:state school ratio in Bristol, not sure if this could be an issue or if I'm just being prejudiced.

Anyway these are just some of my opinions, make your own decision
