Where to find a Salvia divinorum plant cutting in the UK? (Local or through the web.)
I am interested in growing plants. I've never grown anything before though. Any students with general experience out there?
I have read up a lot about the Salvia divinorum plant and am very interested in the effects it has after chewing the leaves. I'm not ready for the experience just yet but know I'll probably one day.
For now, I want to experience taking care of a plant and keep it growing healthily.
Any tips would be very much appreciated.
MAIN QUESTION: Does anyone know where I would be able to find a cutting?
Thanks -

Re: Where to find a Salvia divinorum plant cutting in the UK? (Local or through the wFind someone who has the plant already and see if they will let you take some cuttings. If not your only other option really is to grow from seed. You can buy seeds over the internet, and many head shops will probably sell them too.
It is very easy to grow and doesnt require much maintenance. I would get the seeds sown as soon as possible (ideally they should be sown in late Feb to March but no worries), keep them in a greenhouse, or on a sunny windowsill. In the summer you can place them outdoors in a sunny possition, then take them back indoors over autumn and winter. -

From the few websites I've looked at, they say growing this plant from seeds is next-to-impossible in most climates. Is that untrue?

Re: Where to find a Salvia divinorum plant cutting in the UK? (Local or through the wHmm actually upon, further research, it seems the seeds are extremely difficult to get hold of in the first place as the plant itself rarely sets seed, infact no seeds have ever been observed on the plants in the wild. Learn something everyday. Interestingly enough though, i had a Salvia divinorum plant a couple of years ago that a friend gave to me, which did set seed, but i never bothered to keep them or try to grow from them.(Original post by njff15)

Scratch the seed idea then. Best thing to do then would be to buy an already established plant, plenty of websites sell them. Even seen some on ebay before. I have found one website selling cuttings too, which are a bit cheaper, but obviously being a cutting require a little more care to to get them to root.
Im probably not allowed to link to the websites, just do a quick google search.

Thanks for that. I found a few places which don't sell cuttings anymore due to the demand of fully established plants. I'll do more research but after a quick search yesterday, the cheapest I found a plant was £35 - a bit steep!
Thanks for your insight.
