When I apply on a gap year will my prospective Unis know my AS results?
So say I were to get bad grades at AS and then retake the Units in the january of my A2 year. I then get my final A-Level grades and I do very well. Would my Unis know what my original AS grades were even though I would have fully finished and would by applying with grades in hand (hopefully leading to unconditionals). If so, would this hold much weight to wether they choose to take me on or not at good Universitys?

If you're retaking the AS units, then depending on whether you get higher marks or not, these new grades would 'override' your bad AS grades.
So long as you get the UCAS points/grades required for the course and have a good enough personal statement/reference, I can't see the Universities being too concerned if they were to find out about these old marks. -

They will know the highest mark you got for each unit. In that situation you would enter the AS resit results you got in January of your A2 year and the results from your A2 units. If previous bad results have been overriden by resit results then you don't declare the old results.
