Hi all to the snooker fans here on TSR.

The 2012 World Championship begins on the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield on Saturday and runs until Monday May 7th. John Higgins hopes to become the first man since 1996 to defend the title and raise the trophy for a fifth time but the 32 man field also includes 17 year old Belgian Luca Brecel - making his debut at the Crucible and the youngest ever player to appear there. Here is the thread to discuss all the goings on in the Crucible's 17 day snooker marathon.

i have to say im still a Hendry guy i think he might be a bit past it though.

did you see his destruction of Higgins?

Wow this is amazing from Hendry. I'm a Higgins fan too, but wow. Peeps said his play wasn't at his best, but his pot percentage was up at 91. That seems pretty good. I believe the record pot percentage was John Higgins with 93% over the 2009 tournament.

Hendry reminds me of Schumacher and Federer. Past champions surrounded by pumped up youngsters, but, all 3 retain their class.
