Help in Finding A Good Pale Foundation
    Hello

I was wondering if anyone would be able to reccomend a good foundation for my skin. I have VERY pale skin, and I mean really pale, but I also have lots of pores, and some redness around my nose and cheeks. All the really pale foundations I've tried, such as the Nicola Roberts one, is just too sheer, and has no actual coverage, which ....sucks . And the ones which do have coverage are too dark and orangey for me.
Does anyone know of any brands which have a suitable foundation? Or does anyone know a way of covering crap skin without looking like you have cakey skin??

Would be very much appreciated, Thank You!!!

Have you tried Urban Decay's Cream to Powder Compact? I really like the coverage it gives me and they do have quite pale colours (online they don't look that pale but if you test some in a shop you'll see they come out quite light). They can be quite pricey, but eBay sometimes have some if you know what shade you want.

I think MAC do a foundation-y thing which is pretty much pure white - you can add it to other shades to tone them down but again it's a bit expensive.

You might also like the colour supplements they do at LUSH - they last a fair while if you mix them with moisturiser (and still give decent coverage that way) or you can just used them straight from the pot if that's what's needed to cover your redness. The Jackie Oates shade is supposed to be designed for very very pale skin tones.

    Hope I've helped a little!

I have a similar problem in that almost every foundation I try is too dark. I would suggest Max Factor- miracle touch. Although it is a bit pricy it does the job for me :cute:

    You're very welcome

Like I said - the white stuff MAC have is designed to be mixed with other shades so it might be worth investing in that one expensive product and using it with other, cheaper brands which you find too dark (obviously you'd mix it with foundations of the same consistency though!)

I've had this problem recently but I bought a BB Cream from South Korea (there's tons on ebay and they're so cheap) and in the palest shade it is extremely pale and almost white so I mix it with my foundation and I get the perfect shade with great coverage.

This is the one I use: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Missha-M-P...item4aa9c454d4

Honestly this method has worked like a dream for me and I've been advising it to anyone who struggles to match foundation.

Like one of the posters above said, if you're really pale you can buy a white foundation and mix it with another foundation to make it paler. You just make sure the coloured foundation has the right undertone for your skin and voila!
I don't think you HAVE to get MAC though, if you don't want to, it's a bit expensive or it makes you break out. Illamasqua do one, Barry M, and apparently a brand called Stargazer, so there are choices out there.

For other foundation brands that might be pale enough, you could try L'oreal true match, Bobbi Brown, or maybe Estee Lauder? I have seen some light ones around but they take some searching Good luck!

NARS Sheer Glow in Siberia is super pale :yep: And really nice. It's not as sheer as the name suggests either, and definitely worth checking out imo!

Okay so I seem to be the same as you, I couldn't find anything pale enough and if I did was too sheer...

Step forward Bobbi Brown! Her foundations look quite yellow in the bottle which put me off initally but dear god does it look natural on!

Any of her foundations are brilliant but I like Skin Foundation and I wear it in Alabaster shade number 00! Its by far the palest I've found, but it doesn't make you look like white or washed out

Bobbi Brown counters also all offer a foundation matching as well. I highly recommend it! Good luck!

I always have this problem!or when I think I've found the perfect shade they always oxidise by the end of the day.I'm currently using Chanel vita lumiere aqua which is quite pale ( probably not pale enough for me but I wear st tropez all the time now it's getting more summery) so if you have yellowish undertones you could try that?! a friend of mine is a red head and super pale and she wears loreal infallible and always looks great

Vichy aera teint in Opal is amazing. You can get it in either a fluid or mineral powder, both are great. I won't use anything else.

Revlon Colourstay is the best high street foundation that I've found that matches my skin and I am really very pale. Other than that, my friend recommends Bobbi Brown

I'm pretty sure MAC studio sculpt foundation comes out paler than their other foundations, so I think that would be worth trying. It also gives a really good coverage.

Re: Help in Finding A Good Pale Foundation
I have super pale skin too and I've tried soooo many different foundations but always go back to MAC. I use the studio fix powder foundation as I think it looks far more natural than liquid foundations, not that cakey look you mention and on days when I need a bit more coverage I use Kiehls tinted moisturizer first.

As for your pores and redness a good primer should cover this and give you a better base for your foundation, try Benefit Porefessional.

Really though, the best thing is to go to several good counters and get them to color match you and then look at in daylight outside the store and find which works best for you.

Maybelline's Dream Matte Mousse foundation (in whatever its lightest shade is) is really pale. I actually mix it with a little primer before I put it on (tip I read online somewhere) and it goes on really well.

l'oreal infallible foundation is supposed to be great for pale skin, i'm going to try it out myself very soon!
maybelline's dream matte mousse isn't very pale at all, looks really orange on me, and it doesn't work very well as a general foundation.
i've also tried out urban decay's cream to powder foundation in fate which is the lightest shade, and it still made my face look a bit yellowy/orangey. should be good for pale people, but not if you're REALLY pale. i'm hanging onto mine in case i get a bit of a tan, but it wasn't worth the money imo.

Were you using the lightest shade of dream matte mousse? I tried it on the recommendation of a friend who's also very pale and if anything it's about as close to white as you can get without looking like a vampire xD (which incidentally my sister.used it for on Halloween)

The palest Revlon Photoready Airbrush/ColorStay are both very pale and the latter offers better coverage than the first, which is more lightweight.

I'm going to second the Bobbi Brown recommendation.... I swear by the moisture rich foundation in Alabaster 00! Perfect for v. pale skin.

I used to use the Bobbi Brown Alabaster one but now I've got Dainty Doll and it's sooo good. Flawless coverage but not cakey or too thick, they do perfect shades as well. The palest one is literally a white foundation so I've got the second one down (yeah...I'm super super pale) and they're just so so good. Similar price to BB but bigger bottles
