Parker and Mellows: The Modern Law of Trusts is probably the most accurate, but at the same time the least user friendly! I have that and also Unlocking Trusts, which may not be as intricate, but easier to use/read.

A combination of the two should have you covered.

Penner is very readable. Anything by Swadling is quality.

For a casebook, I actually think Hayton & Mitchell is good stuff.

Graham Virgo's new book will be out soon. I haven't seen it, but I expect it will be both detailed and very reader-friendly.

Everyone on my course loves Swadling too. I literally had no idea what he was talking about in a resulting trusts essay. Praying that doesn't come up tbh.

His favourite. He tells this story about Westdeutsche, and how the counsel for Islington wasn't paid for his time, so he wouldn't argue the brief, so the judge phoned him up and asked him to give his theory of resulting trusts instead.

Basically, he tells the whole Orthodox theory vs Birks/Chambers from a different point of view, but you end up at exactly the same spot - it makes sense when he's teaching, but is a nightmare when you're reading.
