    Graduate Entry Medicine Applicants 2013
Hi all, it's getting to that time to start getting med applications (and especially grad med) in order so thought it would be nice to start a thread.

    Name: James
    Current University: York
    Current Course: Chemistry
    UKCAT: Taking this summer
Work Experience: Work in a care home during the holidays + hospice shadowing
Something interesting: I'm writing this sitting in the library, intensely procrastinating instead of ensuring the 2:1 prediction I need.

Best of luck with your app.

As a 3-time reapplicant (and subsequently a 2012-entry med student!) Feel free to quote me or PM on any questions you might have.

Nice! I'm a grad reapp for possibly a 3rd time this year... still thinking about it. Where did you get in?

Offers from Glasgow and Dundee + Aberdeen waiting list this year (for what that's worth haha). I've taken 2 gap years and a degree more than most but it's what I want to do so I've (almost) no regrets.

Congrats m8, where you going for? I'd be applying to those 3 universities this year if I applied also!

Firmed Dundee for several reasons. But I don't want to hijack this thread with details about me

    Hello,

I'm also applying this year for 2013 - my first time applying and mainly focussing on courses that take any degree as I don't have a science-based degree. I'll mainly be applying around London. Good luck!

I'm currently studying Biomedical Science, on target for a first right now, and applying for 2013 entry graduate medicine.
Worried about entry exams and choosing the right place to apply at the minute.
Where is everyone thinking of applying?

    Good luck to everyone

Congratulations I hope to be in your position this time next year.
Can I ask where you applied? And what was most important to you when looking for places to apply?
    Thanks

Hi everyone, I'm a 1st year applicant, will be taking the GAMSAT, UKCAT and possibly the BMAT although I'm undecided about that yet. Very nervous about the exams!

    I am so so tempted...

Sacked off the idea of medicine pre undergrad application. Am doing PPE at Oxford at the moment. Can't decide whether to do the classic law conversion or whether to do this.

It's such a big decision, but I'm gonna register my interest here and keep up with your progress. I'll let you know if I take the plunge..

    Hi

I'm a second year student midwife, still hoping to pick my grades up to a first but might end with a 2.1

I've been looking into GEP. I'm 30 and a single mother with two children ... not sure if I'm just indulging a pipe dream though

    Any tips/advice appreciated

(if i do apply it will probably be liverpool)

Can you apply for graduate medicine with a 1st class psychology degree?

I really want to do medicine and alot of people are telling me that i should totally move on from the idea. I didn't do the correct Alevels in college or get the best grades.

    Thanks guys!

    Ok so more info then.

In 1998 I got GCSE's, 7 x B (inc double award science, math and English) a C (electronics!) and 2xE (re and it)

I faffed about at a level and dropped out twice.

In 2006 I completed and access course included a level equivalent in physiology and psychology (got over 70% for both)

So I should qualify with a midwifery degree in 2013 ... Possibly a first but most likely a good 2:1

All my jobs in between have been in health care field so loads of on the job experience.

Extra to that in currently the course rep and the student rep for my local RCM

Anything else I can do to improve my chances of getting a GEP place?

    Thanks in advance everyone x
