Report Warning over 'lost generation'.
'A Stark report has ranked St Helens among the ten areas of the country worst hit by soaring youth unemployment during the double dip recession.'
(Are we in a dd recession?)
'The amount of jobless 18-24 year olds i the borough has risen by more than 30per cent the last year, analysis by education specialists Ambitious Minds has revealed.'
'The crisis is mirrored across neighbouring towns and cities, with 18,000 people aged 18-24 in the 'Liverpool City region' claiming jobseeker's allowance (JSA).'

St Helens has always had high unemployment; the town has really suffered, although not as bad as Merthyr Tydfil.
6,000 young males currently unemployed in St Helens alone according to Libdem spokesperson for town hall last year. It must have risen again this year.
