    Oxford Brookes Offers 2012
    Hi,

I've applied to Oxford Brookes for English/History for 2012 entry but haven't even received an acknowledgement. Has anyone else received any offers or response from Oxford Brookes for any subject? x

Oh okay, just checking I'm not the only one! I've had three out of five acknowledgements so far but didn't send ucas off very long ago so maybe I should just be patient. Sure it's nothing to worry about Good luck! x

    Brookes don't send acknowledgements!

You will either be on the receiving end of an Offer, or unfortunately a Rejection - this will be the first bit of contact the University will have with you. It will be through UCAS Track and will say 'Conditional/Unsuccessful''

They are not too tough - I know people who have had offers for Brookes for BBC and have gotten in on the day of results by ringing up with CCC.

But for an offer.. I'm not too sure if you will receive one if your predicted's are lower than that of the requirements! Also may depend on the amount of applications recieved for your course! You may be asked for Interview or you may just receive a straight offer as applications are down by 10% this year!

Thanks, I dunno im more worried now lol. Can you still ring up on the day of your result if you get the grades or well if you get rejected 1st time and you just want to see if they have spaces? What would you say to them? When you mean down by 10% this year thats a good thing right? Lol Primary teaching is mega competitive to get into but i really want an offer from them

I had an offer for BBC, i got BCD.

Didnt have to ring up or anything, they changed me straight to unconditional on track.

This was like 3 years ago however...

Don't be worried! Just try and get the grades! The more you focus on whether you're actually going to get into uni - the more chance you won't. Concentrate on just trying to get your grades! Forget everything else!

You can ring them up if you slip your grades - and just say why you missed your grades and why you feel like brookes is the right place for you - they'll ask you questions probs :')

Jesus. 10% down means theres less applications so more chance of getting into university.

    Re: Oxford Brookes Offers 2012
Mine took ages to arrive (sent @ November, I have to call Brookes of what happened to my application), it arrived after the Easter break. I've firmed for Japanese/Computer Science.

The shock was that they brought my required grades down, and I was extremely worried because I didn't have an "official" predicted grade for Classics as I'm doing it in AS+A2 (1 year, distant learning). The rest of my subjects are English, History and Biology (AS)...between those times, I literally went through death row...and thought I would never get the offer. Now, they've cut off my workload AND prepared myself to get those grades.

...I already know a few people who's doing my course(s), but has anyone else applied for Japanese and/or Computer Science in Brookes? It'll be cool to know more people doing it, coz it's quite rare (especially this type of combined degree - only Brookes offers this)
