Disputing my fee status - please help me !
I was wondering if anyone could please help me I have a question about fee status.

I am currently a first year undergrad at soas. I'm a home student but I wanted to change my course so I reapplied to uni this april (a bit late). Even though I applied as an individual student I still went back to dubai for easter so I could reapply with the director of 6th form of my old school where i finished my a-levels. One of the unis made me an unconditional offer through ucas which I accepted immediately online. However now that I'm back in London I have just received the official offer letter by post and have noticed it has stated me as an international student. When I accepted the offer I assumed I was a home student (because your fee status isn't written on UCAS track). I am 100% home student, I was born in london, we have property here and my mum still pays income tax, furthermore I have a national insurance number, and when I applied to uni last year, I was a home student for all my choices. I am going to dispute my fee status but will they change it?

If it says it on your offer letter then it is the university who thinks you are an international student, not Student Finance. You need to contact them (the university) as soon as possible and tell them that you are a home student.

Just call up the university or ucas, should be simple to sort out

No one here can really answer that, you need to speak to the university and UCAS. my status update on UCAS stated I wasnt entitled to a loan, one call to them and they found the issue on my form and it's been sorted out.

I spoke to my university today and they have asked me to send them all the details about where I lived etc for the past three years, which I did. I had this same problem last year as well, hopefully it can be sorted. Thank you so much for your help !

Can they take your offer away? -That's the million dollar question, and one that I have too.

I have an unconditional for Economics in St. Andrews, I used to have a conditional which included the condition of being an international student. I was reminded that "Please note that any change to fee status will require a review of offer status."

However, changed in Fee Status can occur later too, such as when I have already accepted the offer. Could they wirthdraw it then? I don't know! But at least it wouldn't seem fair. I have now asked UCAS.

Are you a home student or an international student? If they've changed your offer to unconditional then thats good but if it based on you being an international student when you're a home student then it means you have to contact them and dispute it. It's been two weeks now my uni has all my paperwork and details they're now deciding whether they're going to change mine or not
