    AS exams
    Heyy guys

    Just started using this, new member- so just making use.Does anyone know about resitting your whole AS and then applying to medicine? I really want to do medicine but feel like I might have to resit the year!:eek: Someone help!

    I'm not 100% sure but from what I've seen they generally say that your A-Levels have to be completed in 2 years so you can resit exams but not whole years.

    I'm sorry I know that's not the answer you want.

    Some other members of TSR with more experience of Medicine applications might be able to help you more.

    AS is really important, do not let anyone fool you that they're not.

    But someone I know has retaken the whole AS year so she can do medicine, but she claims to have had personal issues.

Anyone that knows anymore on this- please reply!@tsveta what happens if I did really well in my GCSEs, get lots of work experience and get really in with this field, but just this year has been bad for me, although I did not let anyone know?

    Depends where you are applying. Oxbridge, UCL etc. do take note of GCSEs, and that's not to say other universities don't - but they don't play so much emphasis on them.

    Work experience is a really good idea, I advise that.

    Have you thought about a gap year? If this year has been a bad year for you, retake the modules you did badly on in your upper sixth year, and then apply to uni in your gap year, after you have better results.

    Some uni's accept resits but most dont unless you have special circumstances.
