Retaking a year because of options?

Im doing maths/bio/chem atm, figured i loved maths but despise biology while chemistry is quite interesting. I was interested in physics prior to sixth however dropped it in the first few days due to the intense sciences I chose.

Im thinking of retaking my AS year just to do physics a-level, with maths and chem but would uni's look down on me for this? I havent full decided on career paths. Also is retaking a year considered the same as a gap year?

Thanks
Edit: Why on earth did you neg me? -_- I was just telling you that Unis generally don't tend to look down on you because you did a third year. You know, from experience and everything.

I don't intend on leaving it to a weeks notice :P

But apart from that, i'm not too bothered if its russell group or not but I just want to have the chance to do physics.
