    Gap year question....
    Hi everyone ,

I am on my gap year at the moment, got about 4 months to go before I start uni.
I have being working since september and recently decided to go travelling to help volunteer in other countries. I have decided to go and teach english for about two months in africa and spend another month taking part in some animal conservation projects. I have checked with some gap year companies but they asked for app. £3500 excluding flights and insurance for the 3 months period.

I want to hear from those who already travelled for gap year (in particular to south africa) of how they came about and did it as I hear that some people have spent about 6 months but surely it wouldn't cost them like £6000!! Any help is appreciated .

    Re: Gap year question....
As my year abroad is nearly over:

    Good:
I played trombone on a table whilst slightly tipsy at a concert
I had a spontaneous tank ride for €5
I went to Europa Park and it was awesome
I went in 3 submarines and visited countless other military stuff which was awesome but I won't drone about that here :P
    German Christmas markets :3
    etc

    Bad:
I tried to go to see the ADAC Masters Weekend at a race track half an hour away by train from my city but they hid the tickets in some welcome centre, and the staff gave my wrong directions 3 times!
