Trying to organise an elective to the US
I don't know where to start at all. The most obvious route (through US medical schools) are all closed off from what I've seen; they generally only allow American or Canadian med school students for elective placement. Can someone who's had their elective in US tell me: where should I begin?

Begin with Google or your student office to see if you have exchanges. There are plenty of places that offer rotations to foreign medical graduates. It takes time researching it, start with the Wikipedia list of US medical schools and visit each website.

DOI: Done two rotations in the US now.

I am currently in America working in general surgery and ITU and i can say the easiest way to organise experience is via contacts. Everything in America is contacts, try asking around your university and medical school for anyone who has worked in america or has colleages there who could help hook you up.
Also beware it takes quite an age sometimes to get all the legal stuff sorted

Try UCLA, San diego, Downstate New York, University of Toronto, University of British columbia, they tend to take people from the UK.

    Hope this helps.
