Is it a stupid idea to get worse grades deliberately
My firm choice uni asks for ABB,i already have A so I must get BB in august.....my insurance wants a B in french plus a certain overall score in my leaving school diploma and i am sure my score will be higher than that. In other words.. I need to get that B( aiming for an A) in french and that is enough for me because I changed my mind and I really dont want to go to my firm choice.
So, is it a stupid idea to study hard only for my french exam and deliberately mess up my other subjects exams. Will my insurance uni be impressed by the bad results in other 2 subjects and change their mind about me?

They will take your other grades into account, so be careful...
If you want to try harder in French, do it by all means, but don't deliberately fail your other 2 subjects cause I can't see it going down well...
Hope this gives you a little help... :O

I'm confused...no uni is impressed by bad results, they are impressed by good results. That's why competitive courses have the offer AAA rather EUU...

Also, those grades are on your CV for life and you will still be putting them down when you're 30 odd, do you think future employers will be impressed by them?

Can you not try to negotiate with your firm about switching or something rather than deliberately screwing up your exams?

Your a-level grades are for life, as said above, and employers WILL be looking at them to gauge whether they want to employ you.
You can be 'released' by your firm choice on results day if you ring them up, and then let your insurance uni know and they will accept you.
Your best option at this point is to ring your firm university and explain the situation, they may be willing to sort something out now.

No, if you decide on results day that you do not want to go to your firm choice and reject your firm (if you meet their offer) then you will go straight into clearing NOT to your insurance choice. Your insurance choice is only obligated to take you if you get rejected BY your firm because you did not get the grades and they do not have a place for you. If you just decide you want to go to your insurance but you were actually accepted by your firm (regardless of whether you met their offer, its whether they accept you) then your insurance choice no longer exists.

If you don't want to go to your firm choice and you know that 100% now then you can ask for your firm and insurance to be switched around so that your insurance becomes your firm choice.

There is no point doing badly on purpose - when you apply for graduate jobs the employers will have A level/school leaving qualification requirements too and you would be incredibly annoyed at yourself if you couldn't apply for certain schemes because you purposefully performed badly in exams at school. Just get this issue sorted out with your firm and insurance then focus on getting the highest grades as you can.
