What have you found to be the best ab exercises?
i dont exercise my abs at all. i am thinking of starting exercises for them. i know that hundreds of crunches or sit ups wont help. i know that i have to remove fat in order to see them. but i would like them to grow. i am thinking of doing weighted sit ups but that might get awkward the more weight i do and balancing the weight on my chest. what exercises would you recommend to make your abs grow?

Why won't crunches & sit ups help?

or 45 degree angle leg raises whilst laying flat.

Sit ups have worked for me.
I was always quite skinny so once I gained the muscle from sit ups I could see.

Crunches and sit ups certainly will help, as long as you don't exclusively do only that. Planks are good when you're trying to build up your abdominal strength, but weighted leg raises will help more once you're up and running (so to speak)

Edit: pull ups can be useful aswell, and obviously works other muscles too

heel touches, kneeling high cable rope pulldown, hanging leg raises, leg lifts, dumbbell side bends, decline crunches, swissball jackknife, medicine ball seated side twists....
I do all of the above

This probably won't be popular, but I found the 'abs' section of the p90x to be a (the only) good section. Maybe look it up and decided for yourself?

Squats, deadlifts. Planks a few times a week as well. I'm going to start doing leg raises since planks aren't that hard anymore.

I read somwhere that bicycle crunches were proven to work the most muscles - 7 I think. I like planks as well though.

for me no amount of sit ups would make my adominals burn but i discovered pull ups (well let downs technically cos i cant actuallly lift my weight), they really work ur abdominals believe it or not.

It take a lot of ab strength to even hold this for 10 seconds, if you do it properly (straight legs, no sagging). Prepare to be humbled.

I do this quite often and I think it's the one I definitely feel the burn doing the most:
