ah cool, I'm slightly annoyed with my history department as they haven't actually given us a timed mock in lesson time, so going into the exam will be the first time we've had to write it in exam conditions.

I agree, but the same time if they're too specific I don't want to be forced into writing too little...

I hate specific questions, as they need more detail, which at this point im not too confident about. But i'm surprised you haven't done any practice questions in timed condition! My history teacher made us do many mocks during the year, which was annoying at the time but beneficial

actually just a few weeks ago we had to come after school for an hour and 20 mins just like the exam to do both questions. After that my hand was in pain for a week.

Ah that sounds tough, but I would have at least liked something similar.

Oh well, I never normally have difficulties with timing in exams, I normally find they're 'just' long enough

Good luck

Does anybody know whats coming up in the exam on Tuesday 15th 2012? I'm doing civil rights and USA in Asia :frown:

thanks:frown:

hi, I have a prediction that for civil rights it could be about internal divisions (ie the different groups not agreeing/supporting eachother) or black power and NOI,
for the korea/vietnam side, i have a feeling there might be an extent type q on each of the wars, and reasons etc or the presidents reasons in particular
But guys please don't hold me to that, just a guess based on what my teachers have been saying.
for how to write, i would advise doung half an hour for easch q, plus just under 10 mins for each plan, and if theres time check over, but tbh, i'd advise writing right up to the point they tell you to stop so you can cram in everything
good luck  xx

I'm confused, do we do ALL the questions in both sections, or is there a choice?

Predictions of what is coming up?
I actually have no idea!!! :frown:

For the Lenin question, I hope it's something to do with how economic changes..but I dont like the questions that ask about how far things changed over time..i'd rather have a question where you give factors and debate..

Why did it have to be before the source exam!! :frown:

I want a WW2 question to come up!!!

What came up in january?

I've heard the Russian paper was really easy- there was one question on WW2, another on the plans, one on the provisional government and another on economic changes under the tsar. I'm thinking this paper is going to be very difficult :frown: From question spotting it looks like something on the power struggle is going to come up as they've chosen collectivisation, industrialisation and the plans for the past 4 or so years. I still have a LOT of revision to do. Need to make more mind maps so I think its just going to be maths and history tomorrow. And probably biology in the evening..

Omg :frown: Nooo I wanted a WW2 question or 5 year plans questions :cry2:
Power struggle is difficult..is that triumvirate and how stalin used tactical manoeuvrability etc etc ?

Maybe causes/failures of revolutions will come up or ermm Great Terror or Cult of realism/socialism and all the propoganda stuff.. :/ I have no idea! I've still not finished revising for history and plus I cant write essays :frown:
