Dubbin is what you want.
It goes on clear and is used to waterproof and soften the leather. You've just got to rub it on the leather thinly with a cloth or something, and then leave it to soak in for a day. It's also really cheap for how much use you can get out of one tin.
Edit: I think this only applies to real leather though, so don't go smearing it on any faux stuff

If they are leather, basic leather shoe polish from any shop should work to keep them nice - it helps to keep them waterproof and makes them more resistant to scrapes etc.
Depends on what they're made of?
