Interview for Arts and Event Management at AUCB
Hey! I have an interview at AUCB (Arts University College Bournemouth) on Monday afternoon for Arts and Event Management. It's my first choice of university and I'm feeling quite confident. I'm quite prepared but I really have no idea what sort of questions they can ask. I've ready for the obvious ones, and as for passion and commitment there isn't a problem, but Im still super nervous! Does anyone have any advice? Or has anyone experienced an interview with AUCB before?

Yeah! I had it yesterday, it was pretty informal, the people who interviewed me were divine, we got side tracked and began discussing horses at one point, and I was crazy nervous, so you can take it from me you don't hugely have to worry.
She asked me obvious questions about why that uni and course etc, but also what I like to do in my free time and what I thought important traits were in an art manager.
I then went and chatted to. The third years who were lovely and said to get to interview was a good sign so all is well.
I didn't have much of a portfolio, just some reviews I'd written and pictures of events I'd ran. They didn't look till the very end. It was about half an hour good luck!

Oh I'm so happy for you, If i get in i guess i'll be seeing you i haven't actually started my portfolio so I'm a tad bit worried and my interview is at the end of this month, i was wondering so i need a showreel too cause I'm studying TV production at the moment and i've held events and filmed\edited them too, just wondering if i need to show them that too? And ahh thats good, i know the basic answer i think, I'm going to google some questions up about a week away from my interview so i can be a bit more prepared. Still slightly nervous and worried, really want to get into this university. By the way are you going to stay out there if you get in?

    Thanks so much!
I made my portfolio a few weeks before so it should be fine! but if you go on the MyApplication then you can look at the specific portfolio requirements by clicking around! I don't know what's needed for that course. Sorry!
And yes I will be! I live in Newcastle which is about 7 hour train journey. I'd not be living in halls. Hoping to rent a house with a few people. That's what my friend currently in 1st year does

    Arts and events management.
And I was told when I visited that there are very few halls, priority for foreign and disabled students and that no one really stayed in them. Plus you can't leave your car overnight on campus which is an issue for me

Oh thats the same course i've applied for too... Sorry my mistake i wrote the wrong course above.
Oh argh that may be a problem for me too if i do decided to live in halls but don't first year students get priority aswell? Cause if they don't there no way i'll be travelling from london and back every day... i'll get to lazy.

Yeah I assume so, but once foreigners and disabled people get in, theres not much space.
The university is apparently really good for finding shared housing, all the girls i spoke too from that uni on my interview day said it wasn't really an issue for them and none really stays in them.
I don't know, I'm going to go to the accommodation day and get my shizz sorted haha
Sorry about the long wait for a reply, did you have your interview yet?

Hey! Sorry, I only just got an email to say someone posted this morning!
Yes, we both got accepted and are actually now living together with some other lovely people in our first year. Haha.
They told me it'd take about 10 days to get back to me, but it only took 4 days or something.
If they haven't replied don't worry, it just means they haven't got to you yet.
