    CRAZY hair loss (girl)
Okay so I'm 23 and have very long hair which is usually in good condition. I do dye it but I have been doing so for 5 years with no problems and take good care of it. In the last 3/4 weeks however I have noticed my hair falling out A LOT. When I wash it and then run my hand through it I pick up between 8-10 hairs each time. I haven't changed anything in my hair routine or diet and am not particularly stressed. I read somewhere that the pill can cause hair loss but i've been on it for over 2 years now and it seems weird it would suddenly start falling out - though I did notice the hair loss subsided in my pill free week

Has anyone else had this? I am seriously freaking out that I'm going bald

If your that concerned then go see your GP to have a blood test done. You might be lacking a particular mineral/vitamin in your diet.

Go to a doctor. They'll do some test and tell you whats wrong, no one on TSR can tell you that. I had some hair loss problems at the start of this year (sounds about a similar amount) went on for about a month and then randomly stopped before I found out why it was happening. Don't worry i'm sure you wont go completely bald. Mine went on for about 2 months and although it felt a bit thinner you couldn't visably tell, i'm sure it just feels like alot, but in comparison to all the hair on your head it isn't. I think it'll have to come out in clumps for you to go bald.

But yehh go to a doctor

EDIT: actually after a test the doctor did mention to me that i had low iron levels and told me to take some tablets, maybe that has something to do with why it's different around your period, i dunno.

I have a similar problem and my hair is thinner at my temples. My iron levels are low and I now take iron supplements so you may need something similar. If it continues go and see your gp.

I'm not a hair specialist at all, but 8-10 hairs falling out directly after washing doesn't seel a lot to me....?

I've simply no personal experience with this particular however i be familiar with normally it takes a couple of months for hair to begin returning to normal. I understand it is difficult however give it moment. Make sure you do not stress regarding this that simply causes it to be more serious.
